Indonesian School in Cairo as the first Indonesian state school abroad was firstly founded in 1956, though was actually inaugurated by the Indonesian ministry of education in 1961, located at a strategic and elite location, at the capital city of Egypt, Cairo. Indonesian School in Cairo, which is consists from playground, elementary school, junior and senior high school, meant to served Indonesian citizens, the children specifically, as to give them the same chance for having a quality education based on the national curriculum. During the time, ISC improved its quality in education significantly, either its staffs or facilities, such as library, kinds of laboratories, multifunctional hall, internet connections, wi-fi, student lockers, its own field, canteen and mosque.

Aside from it’s prime function as a school, this 4 floored building also frequently used for workshops, cultural exhibitions, ‘Indonesian language course for foreigners’ office, craft fair, domestic or international trade fair, private occasions, rendezvous spot and many more as where the ISC students always involved with those activities and such.

ISC students are known for being active in many cultural and diplomatic occasions which held by the embassy, foreigner organizations, international schools, or the school itself, within the OSIS, PASKIBRA, music band, basketball team, dance group, english debate group, ISC magazine press, etc. ISC is also known as one of the ‘Big Five’ in SILN (Sekolah Indonesia Luar Negeri) or SRI competition (Sekolah Republik Indonesia) that includes ISBangkok, ISKuala Lumpur, ISMoscow, and ISSingapore.
